*** A BIG THANK-YOU to those who came, and fought, and won ***
This is to announce a Garrison on Saturday the 14th of January. Maior says he cannot attend so I am running it with Maior's rules. Remember, level 30 cap.
We Begin to gather at the Outpost in the Dunes at 7:30PM Eastern. By 8:10PM Eastern I hope we will have enough players to begin or I will CANCEL. I see no reason to waste everyone's chance to get into an Exp Party on a Saturday night if we cannot gather enough folks quickly.
I am not expecting both Dunes and Pensinsula to be available so it may be a short Garrison. Looks like San d'Oria may control both outposts. The reason for running the Garrison is prices went crazy over the holidays and I am thinking Harps will sell for 600k and Legs for 300k and Feet for 300k. I have enough mules to collect drops and sell off to gather Group Loot gil.
Remember:
The person who Trades gets a choice of Weapon and if that person wants to LOT for a guaranteed Feet or Legs (in place of their usual LOT for a Weapon) I will allow that also (if I am running the Event).
For this Garrison I hope to make use of a BRD in a DD party and use SLEEP on a Goblin so the mages get the benefit of Resting-for-MP (the usual strategy in other words). If no Puller with a SLEEP companion I may cancel the Event at 8:10PM Eastern for that very reason. If no BRD we will still proceed.
Remember:
No LOTting on feet or legs, we let those drop normally, and then if someone has two parts we try to share with someone who has none. For this Garrison there will be a small exception as I try to pull ONE set of Legs and ONE set of Feet to place onto a mule to sweeten the Group Loot pot. The logic being the additional 600k may make even a Short Garrison worth the while so players show up. A Short Garrison can mean that you may leave the Event with zero parts (it happens) so I want some group gil to distribute.
Of course some will always show up because they simply enjoy beating on goblins =~_^=
Seven Fights, 28 Waves, we won them all
Thank-you to all those who showed up and made is so successful.
Obviously I need to post some items, numbers, etc - but I am just too tired right now =^_^=
Darkkit: Please talk to Maior about running/organizing an Event; I am sure he might have some helpful suggestions regarding fun things for the Clan to do.
Lights Templar and Clan fough
Lights Templar and Clan fought seven rounds for a total of twenty-eight waves of Goblins. Lights Templar was represented in the Garrison by Altairs, Meckruco and Tamara.
There is a pile of gear and other oddities that was won from the Goblins and is considered as Group Loot. As of this morning enough gear has sold for the Group Loot kitty to be at 1,800,000 gil.
Those who participated will (sometime) see gil arrive in their delivery box from either Niyebe or Niyeba or Santaclaws. There will likely be more than one distribution of Garrison Group Loot Gil.
The snagging of one pair of Mannequin Legs and one pair of Mannequin Feet for the Group Loot pile went very well - in the future for any Garrison I am running I will likely repeat this trick (the Feet and Legs have already brought in 800,000 gil for the Group Loot pile). So now you know I got ridiculous for you fine folks and put those items up for sale at 400,000 gil apiece. Feet and Legs both sold within twelve hours.
I will post more info on Monday. Basic information is there will be 111 shares of Group Loot. If you fought in all 7 fights you are considered to have earned 7 shares. Currently it appears that if I were to distribute loot right now those who participated in the entire Garrison would receive 113,513 gil (and there remains a LOT of items still to be sold so the figure can only go up).
Off to do some schoolwork now.
Holy crap!
Damn! That sounded like a marathon run! Egads!
28 waves?! Uhm... How many hours was that?!

it was over 7 hours
Heh...
Yeah, we had runs that went over 10 in the past, but I think we maxxed out at no more than 15 runs previously :-)

Server/Linkshell
Server: Phoenix
Linkshell: Clan of the Angry Monkey (ClanOTheAngryMonkey, or something.. It's been too long since I created it :-)
This website is the official one for our LS/Clan. Generally speaking, most people show up on this site because they are already in our LS (although we get a lot of traffic from our various guides).

Whoopsie
lol, sorry but I'm on Hades, so it looks like I wont be able to help with the Garrison. This is a really nice friendly site though, so if its okay, I'd like to stay as a site member.
Of course..
Yeah, go for it. I think we have a couple of people who found us from other servers who have wounded up staying anyway :-)

Saturday eh?
Ill be there if my job is suitable for the event. 27WAR/MNK. Been tired of leveling lately so this sounds like fun.
Yes, it is Saturday
Yes, the Garrison is this Saturday and yes it is still on. Job levels 27, 28, 29, 30 should do fine. There are only 18 free slots for first come, first in, for this Group Gil Garrison.
I do not know how the Group Gil will turn out - for one we will likely just have a few runs, on the other hand the Auction Houses have all gone crazy =^_^=
30 Cap
I wont be there (in-laws in town) but these particular Garrisons have a level cap of 30.
This means that, provided there are enough folks, you should be fine there. You wont be great for kiting the mobs, but for pure DD you should do fine.
The key to Garrisons really is to have enough people. I'd recommend a minimum of 9 or 10 folks, with 12-18 being ideal.

Can't come
Sorry all I won't be able to farm for my sack, or make it to the Garrison to help.
I saw you Malkier!
LOL! You were there!
And you are down for three shares of Group Loot =^_^=
San d'Orians need to farm Sack of Galka Fangs
A sack of Galka fangs is Goblin code for an attack on the Valkurm Outpost.

Level 30 to 39 goblin mobs are carrying it in Ordelle's Caves
Those San d'Orians who can farm for the Sack of Galka Fangs - please post to this thread.
I have a Sack of Galka Fangs
In my MH.
However, since I cannot attend, this does the group little good.
I can help farm items on Thursday evening (after 5:30PM EST) if anyone is interested.
I saw you too!
You also were there, Cyclonus!
I have you down for three shares of Group Loot =^_^=
Tank/Kiter needed
Just wanted to add that since I wont be there, you want to be sure you can get confirmation of a tank/kiter sometime before the event. If not, you guys will have a very hard time.
My preferred kiter at this level is WAR/NIN because of the damage they can also do when needed. That being said, anyone with provoke, enough defense and/or shadows (including Third Eye, which can act as a 1-hit blink) should be fine to be a kiter.

It is in my post
Yes, this is in my post, I just happened to call the job a Puller.
Sure Thing Missy
Hey just letting you know i can come out if you need a BLM to Sleep tank the mob, GOlagres and Durruar will probly be available to. If you get a couple blms let me know i also should have whm to 30 by then, or possibley SAM as well.
Saturday...
Sorry, Saturday evenings are reserved for friends and {Mega Boss}. I will not be able to attend.
I can't join :-(
My in-laws will be here this weekend, so I wont be able to join. Sorry guys.
I may come online to see how the battle goes, however.

You can't
You mean to tell me it is not socially acceptable to inform your in-laws you have better things to do? LOL!
I hope at least you can make the Monday Aqueducts attempt!
I think so
I should be able to make the Monday night run. They will be leaving sometime in the afternoon (it's a 5 hour drive for them).
That being said, after the Monday night event, I'd actually suggest you (Tam :-) take some time off hosting events. You're going to get burned out, and I really don't want to see that happen (thus far, we have had 4 other people who have lead up events over the years who wound up burning out because of lack of support, people not showing up on time, etc.)
What I have found is that I generally have the stamina to lead up one, maybe two big events each month. Honestly, if a few people did that, we'd have plenty of events and they'd be spread evenly such that no single person begins to feel overwhelmed, underwhelmed, discouraged, or burned out :-)

helping ppl that have helped me
I would like to try and head up a few events. I have never done anything like this but would be willing to give it a shot. My last LS did like 2 events in the 2 years that I was in it. Oe was a carby mitts run and the other was a CoP 2-3 run. So if you need me I am always avalible. cause I am getting kinda bored with just lvling all the time.
P.S. And everyone knows how Dangerous a BORED Mithra can be LOL
Heh
Well, my in-laws are leaving today and, even though the month is nearly over, I STILL haven't even looked at my schedule to figure out when I will be heading up my next event.
I may wind up just not leading anything up until Feb.

My choice of word would be....
Discouraged.
Not a bad idea. Perhaps we should discuss further?
Reason to show up.
Want a darn good reason to go on this event. How about the fact that Military Picks are selling for oh... 1,000,000 gil!! The harp isn't far behind at 800,000. I really wish I could be there but i'm sorry to say I only get on weekday nights. 'side note' BST make wonderful kite tanks... Ever wonder what those Jug pets are really good for? Ya well that and bst kites don't need to sub war they can sub anything they want.. You cant provoke goblins or any other intelligent mob so they can 'charm-voke' then run around. In my experience they are one of the best because they are self sufficent so you can leave a blm or whoever would normally follow them around back at camp to help take out the mobs.
