Time?

Has anyone confirmed a time for this? I'd like to add it to the event calendar so people can have a heads up if this is going to happen.

i'm always willing to give a hand... G1 probly is the worst one to do because of the retarded drop rates... but if i'm ever on and you still haven't gotten it done, i can come as another body to throw at the problem...

some suggestions for G1

1. for the bomb coal... bring either a smn or bst... get the damn thing to explode away from you... these mobs do 1000+ flat dmg to all in the area... hellmines do 3000+ dmg which will KO most 75 players... just have the bst or smn toss pets till it dies or explodes... the drop rate on these are decent

2. Exoray Mold... when i went and got mine a high lvl DRg helped out... just remeber these damn things agro and link like a bitch... any 75 should be able to solo these with relitive ease... stay away from there aoe's most won't one shot you, but they might make you wish you were dead.

3. The paper... the worst drop in the game in my opinion... a thf with at least T-Hunter 2 is a must... 3 for good measure. You might try going on a full moon or what not... now what your gonna do here as the lvl 50 is be the switch operator... there are lots of evil mobs in here... switches tend to be safe spots... your party probly should consist of 75 thf, 70+ PLD, 70+ WHM if at all possible...

1. Bah! That's not true. I've helped out with a MNK that was only 70 at the time and wasn't KO'd by the Hellmines. The coal is the easiest to get also primarily because it drops nearly every time.

2. Yeah, that's pretty much the case. These things do hit like a mother though, so even with a 70+ you need a healer unless you want downtime :-) FWIW, these mobs also drop coffer keys, so a good CN Coffer-Key/Skill-Up party is good to get for them.

3. The paper is actually much better than it used to be. Not to sound like some old crotchety man but, when I did it, my paper took 3 weeks of farming for it every day for a minimum of 4 hours. Seriously. It was a beast. The drop rate is much better these days, but is still a pain. Also... be sure to bring a MNK or two... MNKs (naturally) tear through these bastards.

FWIW, I can solo most of the paper dropping mobs. If I'm in the game and aren't too busy, I'll help you with the paper. As for switches, it's helpful to have someone pulling them but not necessary.

lol i said "most" silly...galkan mnks can have more than 3000+ hps lol also if fire resistance is high they do less dmg.... if it beserks and explodes at near 75%+ hp run like a mother you'll die. "just a rule of thumb these aren't a mob you get bored and go play with one day"

Blood aggro

Hah, I forgot about that.

I was barely down anything... I had like 1200/1700 HP, so I was in the yellow, but nowhere near dead.

Actually had a conversation about this in a party I had over the weekend. We were chaining weapons in sky and I'd be in yellow and still have more HP than our tank. I was only taking damage from their occassional AoE stun attack, so I was in no danger at all.

But the WHM would still panic when he saw that yellow and try to cure me up, usually at the cost of some of our Tank's HP and his own MP. Eventually I had to explain to him not to waste MP on me because every five minutes I could chakra and regain whatever HP I lose during that time and that yellow for me isn't at all like yellow for our tank (a Taru NIN with max HP at around 1100).
