Way back when... I was there when most people did their missions. I lead up the rank 4 mission we did for the clan. I was there when we got together to do Thersty's dragon. I was there when we got several people their Rank 5 status. I also went with Thersty, Ray, and others for our 5-1 fight.
Then, I went on my honeymoon, and everyone ditched me on the missions :-P
So, this week, come hell or highwater, I am getting my next mission (5-2). But I'd like to extend an offer if others would like to tag along. Discuss below...
Shadowlord...
5-2 is the fight with the Shadowlord. It's a nasty one, and is apparently uncapped. I've heard tale that you should be at least 58 to fight in it, but I'd suggest being at least 60. I am a 67 MNK at the moment, and may be able to squeeze out another level before the battle.
In addition to 5-2, I've heard that several others need 5-1. Since MNK does tend to rock on the 5-1 mission, I'd be willing to help out with it as well. We just need to come up with a time and day for these two battles.
I would be available on the following days this week to do these. Also, I am listing the times I can work with:
- Monday (Nov 21) - After 5pm Eastern
- Thursday (Nov 24) - All day
- Saturday (Nov 26) - All day
- Sunday (Nov 27) - All day
So, anyone interested in coming along? :-)

I won't be able to attend any of those times, except maybe this coming Sunday. Right now we have a tentative Mission 5-1 run being planned for this Tuesday (11/22/05) at 7pm PST/10pm EST. If any needs this mission, would like to attend, or wants to go but can't make that time; please post.
I get so many different answers
I would like to do Mission 5-1 for Windurst one day.
If you did this mission this week what level should one be (in your opinion)? I keep hearing "Level 50 cap" but does that mean a level 44 Mithra is an asset, or a liability, on this one mission?
I think Avatarx expressed the opinion I should be level 50 for 5-1; and Maior suggests level 60 for Mission 5-2.
5-1 and 5-2
Honestly, for 5-1 it depends on what else is in your party.
If you have two level 50 capped MNKs (or more) then I'd wager a 45ish WHM would be fine. At that point, all you're really there for is to keep two MNKs (who are 2 houring) alive. Chances are you wont pull enough hate to get aggro unless you use Bene. (Remember, MNKs are very strong against bones).
If your party is lacking a MNK, then I'd recommend everyone be 50.
FWIW, when I first did 5-1, both Thersty and I were only 48. We also had a main healer RDM who was roughly our level (maybe 49).
For 5-2, I really don't know the min level. I know the fight is uncapped, which screams to me that the higher you are the better. I've heard from people that a group of 58s can take it. Personally, I'd feel just a titch more comfortable with 60s seeing as how every job gets someing new and cool at 60 thanks to its sub.

I wouldn't be of much use to you at this point. After having to take last week off due to some family matters I plan on using the vacation to get my DRG to lvl 40 and be ready for the next Promy run + the 5.1 Mission. You should see a good deal of me this next week, so I'm willing to help out whereever I can...just not here. :P
CoP 2-3
You finished the Promies, I thought. You should come with us on the CoP 2-3 (Aqueducts) mission the next time we go. It was pretty darned fun :-)

I did finish the Promys but need level 40 before trying CoP 2-3. Currently level 36, assuming DRG is more helpful than RDM. I was mostly talking about Mission 5.2 that I would be little help on since I don't have a job high enough to help out.
CoP 2-3, NPC Quest, and Mission 5.1 are next on my docket.
