Actually, most of us have already beaten the dragon several times. Personally, I've beaten him a dozen or so times (I've lost count, honestly). But here is the ideal battle plan:

1 WHM for healing. A second WHM, RDM or SMN would be nice, but isn't necessary.
1 BLM for sleeping the dragon. Without the dragon slept, this is much more complicated than it needs to be.
2 MNKs. Obviously, we will have Thirsty and myself. 2 MNKs chew through the dragon and the eye if they strategically 2 hour them.

The idea is, when everyone is ready, the BLM casts Sleep on the dragon (putting him to sleep). When the dragon is asleep no one touches him. If you attack the dragon while he is asleep, he will wake up.

With the dragon asleep, we focus on killing the eye. The first MNK will two-hour the eye (effectively tanking the eye). The second MNK just attacks the eye.

When the eye is dead, the second MNK two hours the dragon. The original MNK (the one who two-houred the eye) now just attacks the dragon.

WHM heals, BLM nukes, and you have one dead dragon ;-)

Naturally, the more the merrier. I hear Trix needs something from the eye, so he will probably come along. Kyler has Dragoon at that level, and can weaken the dragon (heck, with Kyler there and 2 MNKs, we may be able to get server record ;-)

With two monks, a black and white mage, the dragon should go down easily. But if we are not lucky enough to get that combination of players, I still think we can take it with any four. Say we get Thersites (mnk), Maior (mnk), Trix (thf), and Kyler (drg). I suggest that maior and trix take the eye, while thersites and kyler simultaneously attack the dragon, then when the eye is dead, trix and maior attack dragon too (assuming dragon is still alive at that point). Based on my experience with kyler, this should do the trick. If drifter (whm) can come and heal us, so much the better. So when does everyone what to try this?

Without a healer, it's too much risk for me. One death from the dragon and I delevel (yes, I'm that close).

A healer will be easy to find though. The BLM always does cause troubles, however... We will see what we can get.

Agreed, it would be much safer with a whm. (Some might even say that would take the sport out of it, lol). One thing i noticed when fighting with kyler was that the dragon did something to me that reduced my MAX HP. I dont just mean he hit me a few times and knocked it down. But the HP scale itself was reduced to about one third what it was. I don't think it was the lev25 cap either (I had more hp than that at lev25). Anyone else notice this?

aaa crap i dont think i gonna be on alot this weekened....my internet is messed up...im at school right now...nothing works in my house, comp, online anything.. i would help but nothing is working :(

Level cap

Probably just the level cap. Chances are you have an HP boosting item or two missing (possibly even a food item).

For example, when I was 25 and did this, I had a whole helluva lot of HP boosting gear. That stuff I prompty ditched in Kazham as soon as it became evidant that MNKs make lousy tanks ;-) This means when I go back to the dragon now my HP is way lower than I remembered when I took him on before.

One way we could test this is I could get my SAM to 25 tonight before we go and I could just take my 25 SAM ;-)
